Teaching Time

Tips
-I went to school at Florida Atlantic University.  While there I learned several "good ideas" for teaching coins.  When trying to teach your child the value of coins use the following song:
Coin Song (tune of Farmer in the Dell)
A penny equals one.
A nickel equals five.
A dime equals ten and a quarter twenty-five.
-The best gift you can ever give to your child is reading with them!
-When your child is trying to sound out an unfamiliar word, give him or her time to do so. Remind your child to look closely at the first letter or letters of the word.
