Wonderful Day!

Today was supposed to be terrible weather so we decided to take Ry to the Children's Museum. We had a great time! Ry really seemed to enjoy building in the garage and he was obsessed with the seed table. He did not want to leave. Since the weather was looking up we decided to go have lunch in Oakland at Primanti Bros. After that I mentioned ice cream. Ice cream it was! We stopped off at the library since I had books to return. While there I looked for books on dinosaurs. Ry's class has been learning about them and he's been very interested. He will tell you his favorite is a Stegosaurus because it has pointy spikes. We ended our afternoon at Cold Stone. I had a small watermelon sorbet that had strawberries and blueberries mixed in. Ry ate most of mine and some of Trav's! It was a great day!

Easel

I've been wanting to get Ry an easel for a while, I finally bit the bullet yesterday and bought it. I set it up for him after he went to bed. It has a whiteboard/magnetic side and a chalk side. It also has the clips for paper and the roller at the bottom to attach a roll of paper. The easel came with 72 magnetic numbers and letters. That alone would keep Ry occupied. Hopefully there will be several masterpieces that emerge from buying this easel!

Wii

Trav introduced Ry to video games over the weekend. I know I'm in for it now! No better way to introduce him then through boxing. Ry loved it!

New Neighbors

We are thrilled to have new neighbors who moved in across the street from us. They are a really nice young family. I've always hoped we would live in an area where Ry could go outside and play with other kids. I always had kids around me growing up. John and Courtney, our new neighbors, have 3 kids. They have a little girl who just turned 3 and is Ry's new favorite person to play with. They had a play-date yesterday and it's funny to see how 3 year old's interact! Elizabeth also has younger twin siblings. JJ and Abby and are 11 months. It's great for me because I also get to hold them!! We hope more kids will move to our side of the street but in the meantime it's great to have new neighbors!

You scream! I scream! We all scream for ice cream!

This weekend, while it wasn't as warm as it has been, the sun was out and it's April, so that means the ice cream man! We heard him and Ry ran to get some money from daddy. (He takes after me!) We let him pick his ice cream from the wide assortment. Ry chose the SpongeBob ice pop with bubble gum eyes! Ry even got to use his cool ice cream/ice pop holder from Aunt Mindi & Uncle Chris. Daddy and I each got an ice cream sandwich. Yum!!

Dentist Appointment

Well Ryan had his first dentist appointment. I was so nervous about this. I kept envisioning a child needing restraints. When I called the pediatric dentist to make his appointment they advised me that yes they've dealt with difficult 3 year olds before. I'd prepped Ryan for a while by discussing what dentists do and how they are so much fun! When he was picked up at daycare he was very quiet and said he did not want to go. Oh boy!

We walked into the office and there were toys everywhere. Ry loved it! He settled right in and was very content. The dentist came out and said hello while we were waiting. When we got back there they talked to him for a while and let him pick out a special toothbrush and toothpaste. He got to sit in the "spaceship" and blast into the air! They counted his teeth. Then they cleaned his teeth.

We didn't do much more because of his age and she said his teeth looked great! He'll go back in 6 months and get more done then.

We were so proud of him that when we stopped at the store to get a few items, he got a sugar filled cookie from the bakery. If only the dentist could've seen that!

SPRING BREAK

Well, spring break came and went! It's amazing how it seems to take forever to get here and then it's gone in a split second.

I had a nice time spending some prep and planning time for our upcoming children's sale for the 3 Day event in October with my friend Catherine! Ryan and I had doctor's appointments and visited Chuck E Cheese for the first time.

Then we took off for NC to visit my friend Jill and her little girl Brooklynn who is not so little anymore! We took the kids to Marbles Museum in Raleigh.

After visiting with Jill and B we drove over to Winston-Salem for a packed morning. I was able to visit my friend Kerri for breakfast. Then I went and visited another friend for a play date. After that I met some friends for lunch. While Ry and I had a packed day he was excellent and cute as ever!

3 Years Old!

Well it's been nearly 6 months since my last blog and our little boy is now 3. We celebrated by hosting a party for his friends. We had 9 kids and a great Toy Story theme. All the kids were very well behaved. There were no organized activities. They just wanted to play in his playroom. The kids ate lunch, opened presents, and had yummy cupcakes! They were very interested in the party hats and blow-horns.

Ry with some of his favorite presents!

It's hard to imagine that Ry is now 3 years old. It's sad yet also exciting. He had his 3 year check up and you can see how he's grown in the past 6 months. I'll add pictures soon!

Ryan's 3 year check up:

Weight- 35lbs 75%
Height 38 3/4 in 75%

They didn't do a head circumfrence check but did mention his bmi was good. The doctor did do a very general vision screening and Ry did great! He must take after his mommy :)

Thanks for the nudge Jill!!
