Movie Night

Tonight was special because it was New Year's Eve, however, we still continued with our movie night tradition. Tonight's choice was "How to Train Your Dragon". I was thoroughly entertained with the movie and it kept me interested which I was not expecting from a "dragon" movie.

Ry thought it was super!

Special Treat

I channeled my teacher/mommy side to make Ry a cute breakfast treat. He loved it and it was quite easy to make since I had all of the ingredients lying around. I'd really like to try and become more crafty with his food in the new year.

Children's Museum

Ryan and I went to the Children's Museum today. We have a family membership and it's a great way to spend a morning. Ry loves it.
Today Ry painted a red sun, made paper, built a table, played with bubbles and much much more!

Christmas

Since I had to work on the 23rd we drove over to Delaware on the 24th to stay at Travis's brother's house. We spent Christmas Eve there and eagerly looked forward to Christmas morning with Ryan. We left cookies, milk and carrots for Santa and his reindeers. Christmas morning Ry woke up at 4:30am! Ry made out with a ton of loot and had a wonderful day playing with his cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents! We ate lots of yummy food and enjoyed our day. A Meyer family tradition is to head to the family farm to celebrate Christmas there also. However, the NJ/NY winter storm did not allow much of the family to travel to the farm in Shippensburg, instead it was just us and Uncle A and his kids. We had a nice lunch at the farm and Ry enjoyed playing. Due to the weather we weren't able to stay long. Wehn we got back home on Sunday evening we saw Santa had left some presents for Ry at our house too!

Ry really lucked out! He got: 3 sets of new train tracks and new trains, a shopping cart, new kitchen food, Toy Story Legos, Farm Legos, a new toy story Jesse doll, a new Buzz Light Year, a new Woody, a Toy Story guitar, toy money, a cash register, 2 games, several books, Toy Story Bowling Set, a play medicine bag with medical tools, and a wooden dress up doll with super hero clothes!

Making Cookies

Ry was a great help as we made our holiday cookie assortment. We made chocolate chip cookies, tree, snowman and candy cane shaped sugar cookies, peanut butter cup cookies, and chocolate chip gingerbread muffins. He was a great baker and everything turned out yummy!

We shared our cookies with his school, our new neighbors and my school.

Dream

Last week we booked our family vacation for the summer. We had originally intended to head to Disney World for a few days while in Florida but decided what better way to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary than to take a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas. While it's not the Bahamas we are overly excited about...it's the cruise! We will be sailing off on the Disney Dream! It's a brand new ship that isn't even finished. We will sail out of Port Canaveral and enjoy yummy food, the best free supervised kids club (so mom and dad can celebrate), fireworks at sea, a pirate party, as well as the first water coaster on a cruise ship and countless other amenities. We will make a road trip out of it stopping and visiting my friends as well as my parents. We are counting the days!!

Check it out for yourself!

This will be our 2nd cruise. Travis and I took an amazing cruise to Alaska 5 years ago where we got engaged!

Visitors

Last night Travis's parents and brother drove in for the weekend. Travis's cousin died a few days ago and our house is close to where the funeral will be. As much as I dislike the reason why they are here, I know Ryan is loving their company. This is their 2nd visit in about a week since we celebrated Thanksgiving together. He's getting lots of hugs, playing time, and a later bed time. We also enjoy the baked goodies that Connie always brings us!
